City of Minneapolis Caves to Sharia

This happened way back on September 24 but I missed it until today.

Mayor R.T. Rybak of Minneapolis included the following in his budget address:

Beyond connecting people to jobs and preparing future workers, we need to continue creating more jobs by also supporting our entrepreneurs and small business owners, who are responsible for half of all new jobs created. We’ll support these small businesses with more than $4.7 million dollars of business financing tools that provide:

* market-rate loans for job creation,
* low-interest loans to purchase equipment or make building improvements,
* loans to purchase and rehabilitate small commercial and industrial properties, and
* alternative financing loans with no interest to business owners whose religious beliefs restrict them from receiving traditional interest-based financing.

As the quoted text illustrates, the mayor of a major American city intends on utilizing public dollars to enable Islam. Even worse, Rybak's proposal offers Muslims special protection under the law in a way that discriminates against members of other faiths, agnostics, and atheists.

I wish I could say I was surprised to discover that Minneapolis was caving to Sharia but I'm not. Minneapolis has been trending this way for some time. If the good Scandinavian folks up there don't start stepping up soon they might find themselves in a Dearbornistan type of community before too long.

Ahmed Rehab and John Edwards

I've commented on other blogs (here and here) about the Milwaukee Muslim Community's choice for a counter to Walid Shoebat in Chicago CAIR Director Ahmed Rehab. Ahmed comes across as a modern, (Egyptian born) American Muslim, however, some of his stated beliefs, particularly about the Muslim Brotherhood and its founder Sayyid Qutb are extremely disturbing.

LGF has posted this evening that Rehab has been damn near drafted by the Edwards campaign (or should I say that the Edwards campaign has damn near been hijacked by Saudi Arabia?). For sometime I have been frightened by Edwards as compared to Hillary or Obama, and for reasons that I ought to expound upon at some point. If the deal hadn't already been sealed against the man in my mind this would do it.

American Muslims in Oakland assassinate Chauncey Bailey a prominent local journalist who dares to report on their criminal behavior.

Yousef Megahed and Ahmed Mohamed, two Muslim Arab students are arrested with a trunk filled with explosives in South Carolina.

Nuradin Abdi, a Somali Immigrant admitted to working with Al Qaeda in an attempt to blow up a mall in Columbus Ohio.

One of the Virginia Paint Ball Jihadists recieved 10 years for lying under oath to promote terrorism.

Daniel Aljughaifi, aka Abu Mohammed or Daniel Joseph Maldonado as the press likes to call him, an American from Massachusetts, was convicted of training with Al Qaeda in order to genocide Muslims (the wrong type) in Somalia.

Jilani Humayun, a Pakistani national was arrested for trying to ship hi-tech weapons systems information to the Islamist regime in Malaysia.

Muhammad Salah, a prominent Chicago Muslim was sentenced to 21 months in prison for lying under oath to cover for Muslim American fund raising for Hamas in connection with the murder of an Israeli-American teenager.

This list took ten minutes to come up with. Given an hour, I bet I could triple it.

Keith Ellison Demonstrates New Definition of Ass Hat

This Man is a US Congressman.

"You'll always find this Muslim standing up for your right to be atheists all you want," so says Keith Ellison. What Congressman Ellison forgot to mention is that you'll always find almost every other Muslim standing up for their right to kill you for being an atheist.

I'm not sure which statement is more outrageous, this one or the one where he compares 9/11 to the burning of the Reichstag.

Pino's website is down

Well, it took several days but it appears that Professor Pino has wised up. His website: global-war.bloghi.com now redirects to http://bloghi.com/. This morning I was still able to read his filth but I cannot find it now. I sure hope some blogger out there saved some screen shots or at least the text of his articles. I now wish I had.

Kaplan vs. Pino

Ann Althouse has as usual done a fine job covering the Leonard Kaplan Hmong Comments Story. Take this post. In Kaplan's case, the main stream media was quick to find fault with him for discussing stereotypes about Hmong immigrants in one of his classes even though the accusation against Kaplan had come from a student who hadn't even been in his class that day.

Compare the media's coverage of Kaplan to its coverage of Julio Pino. According to Mike Adams, Pino runs a website devoted to Sunni jihad. On his website, Pino promotes Al Qaeda, praises the murder of Shiite children, displays a photo of one of the 9-11 hijackers as if he were some kind of hero, and so much more. Thus far, the media has been shy about this story. Fox News has managed to touch on the story a bit during breaks between Anna Nicole stories but other wise a few articles like this from the Cleveland Plain Dealer are all we see.

So what have I learned from this comparison?

As far as our taxpayer supported Universities are concerned:

* Open discussion of stereotypes in our society = Verboten

* Encouraging Muslims to kill Americans = Protected Academic Freedom

Two things that I find interesting about his post that I haven't seen mentioned yet:

1. The fact that he shows such glee at the death of Shia women and children (I know that Wahabis consider the Shia to be polytheists and worthy of death but they're usually more tactful, at least in the west, about expressing that).

2. He's still posting! When I first read through his blog on Tuesday, I would have bet money that he would take his blog down within a couple of hours. He hasn't, in fact he seems to be using this as an opportunity to bring more attention to his goals of killing Americans, Shia, Jews, puppy dogs, muppets, ice cream men etc... (Ok, I made up those last three but still, this guy seems to really like seeing innocent people killed).

Looks like we've got another Ward Barrett on our hands who will milk this publicity for all it's worth, probably get suspended form teaching, with full pay, sue the University and make a bundle.

Good News From Minnesota

The Minneapolis-St. Paul Metropolitan Commission refuses to put on the Zunnar for Somali cab drivers. For several months the drivers, via the Muslim Brotherhood, have been demanding the right to refuse to transport anyone to Minneapolis Airport who might be carrying booze or a seeing-eye dog. According to Jawa, the commission will not be allowing the Muslims to enforce Sharia Law in their cabs for the time being.

St. Louis Jihad Update

Mousa M. Abuelawi, the Muslim who was preparing for war in St. Charles, Missouri, was indicted today. I'm still waiting for the FBI to tell us if this war he was planning was jihad or just some gang war. If it wasn't a jihad, I'd sure like to know just how Mousa planned to put all those land mines and hand grenades to use. I'm also waiting to see if this story ever gets the national media attention it deserves.

Honor Killings in the New Year

Below are listed just a handful of stories about honor killings that have taken place so far this year. Some of them offer glimmers of hope for Muslim women, but sadly most do not.

Pakistani Minister Zilla Huma Usman was shot through the head for being a female leader in a Muslim nation, because she campaigned for the emancipation of women, and because she did not cover herself to the extent that Muslim law requires.

Hamda Abu-Ghanem’s bullet filled body was discovered in her parents home in Israel. She was likely killed by her brother and cousin for bringing dishonor on the Muslim family by seeking help from battered women’s shelter. She was the eighth woman to dishonor the Abu-Ghanem family and meet such a fate in the past six and a half years.

A 19 year-old Jordanian boy was given a reduced sentence of just three months for slaughtering his 22 year-old sister after his family requested the charges be dropped. The woman was brutally murdered after her brother learned she may have taken a lover out of wedlock. The boy’s original sentence for the honor killing had been only 6 months.

St. Louis Jihad

Does a Muslim man purchasing claymore mines, automatic weapons, and grenades to wage war in a Midwestern city qualify as a news story?

Apparently not since this story has been floating around the net since yesterday morning and still hasn’t been picked up by the AP or any major news sources that I’ve seen.

I have to hand it to law enforcement though. This is the second serious Jihadist in as many months to be apprehended in America’s heartland.
